Initial Ideas
I began by assigning different shapes to each character, for Kurt I thought that an long, trapezium shape matched personality as he is visually good looking while also somewhat unsettling. I think that angular cheek bones creates a gaunt appearance which would be found on an undead creature with a liquid diet. I then roughly sketched out various different hairstyles that I researched, as later shown below. I wanted to make his body proportions skeletal so that his height makes him loom over the other characters and project a grand presence.
I then roughly sketched an initial idea for an outfit but I don't think it was successful as it didn't appropriately convey his dark personality or how dangerous he is.

Hairstyle
I decided that a 1920's style would most suit Barlow's personality as he appears more sophisticated due to his age and experiences in life. A common theme was side parts so this was something I thought would be important to include in order to make him appear older and less modern.
Barlow is described as having hair that seemed to float around his skull so I wanted it to appear fluid.
Body Type
I sketched these body types using contrasting tones of black and white as it better shows the contours of the form and makes focusing on shape much easier.

Teeth of a Bloodsucker
When it comes to the teeth of a vampire, I didn't want them to just look like the sharp canines of typical fangs so I decided to look at different animals teeth and adapt them to create a new composition and look.
